This Privacy Policy explains how the NGO "Practice of Innovative Experience" ("PIE", "we", "us") handles information when you use the PIE Sound Navigation System mobile application (the "App") on Android or iOS.
When the App encounters a technical error, it sends a limited diagnostic report to our server. The report may contain:
A beacon identifier identifies a public navigation device, not a user. The diagnostic session ID is not stored by the App between launches and is not used as a persistent device identifier.
Like other internet services, our server infrastructure necessarily processes an IP address when receiving a request and may record it in security or access logs. We do not use IP addresses to determine your location, build a profile or track you.
We use diagnostic information only to investigate errors, provide technical support, maintain compatibility with phones and operating-system versions, and improve the stability and core functionality of the App.
The App does not collect:
If you contact support by email or phone, we use the contact details and information you provide only to respond to your request.
On some older Android versions, Android may require location permission and enabled Location Services to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. The App uses this permission only to discover PIE Bluetooth beacons. It does not determine, store or transmit your location.
We do not sell or rent diagnostic information. We do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking or profiling, and the App contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. Infrastructure providers may process information only as needed to host and operate our service on our behalf. We do not allow them to use it for their own advertising or tracking purposes.
Diagnostic logs are retained for no longer than 90 days after receipt and are then deleted automatically. Routine server security and access logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to protect and operate the service and are then deleted or overwritten. To request earlier deletion, email ngopinnod@gmail.com. Because we do not maintain user accounts or persistent user identifiers, please include the approximate date and time of the event, App version, phone model and, if known, the beacon used. We will use this information only to locate and delete the relevant report.
Diagnostic reports are transmitted to our server over HTTPS. Access to stored reports is restricted to authorized personnel who need it for diagnostics, support and service maintenance. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, but we apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to this limited data.
The App is available to users of all ages. It does not require an account and does not ask users to provide their name, age, email address, phone number or location. The same limited diagnostic process described in this Policy applies to all users, including children. A parent or guardian may contact us with any privacy question or deletion request concerning a child.
We may update this Policy when the App or our data practices change. We will publish the revised text on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be reflected before or when the relevant App update becomes available.
The data controller and App developer is the NGO "Practice of Innovative Experience". For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact us:
